Head On Festival – Naked or Nude – An Exhibition by Zelko Nedic

Naked or Nude
an exhibition by

Zelko Nedic

Zelko Nedic is a photographer with a penchant for somewhere inbetween perfection and the pathetic, pondering the unchartered territory of what might be, the slightly dirty side of the moment.

Nedic’s background is in hairdressing, styling & makeup artistry working with great artists & designers as Versace & Vivienne Westwood. His personal work has bought him to the fore working in 2010 with Head On to document the Mardi Gras Festival. His practice of documenting Sydney life saw him invited to submit & present work for the Australian Centre for Photography for the Subculture Slide night in March 2010. In 2011 Zelko Nedic was one of the finalist in Moran Contemporary photographic prize.

Exhibition Date: 19 May – 3 June 2012

Head On Festival – Dexterous – An Exhibition by David Young

Dexterous
An exhibition by

David Young

David Young is an advertising, editorial and arts photographer who now works and lives in Byron Bay.

My current ‘fetish’ is for hands and feet and other abstractions around the female nude. Sensuality, mystery, beauty and humour are all expressed through the images. One of the influences in the work is from ‘pinhole camera’ imagery that has inspired me over the last year including my own experimentation with that technique. I am drawn to the painterly finish that transpires from this approach.

Exhibition Date: 4 May – 16 May 2012

Gallery opening hours:
Mon-Fri 4pm-6pm, Sat-Sun 10am – 5pm

Head On Festival – Talvi – An Exhibition by Dan Freene ASC

Talvi
An exhibition by

Dan Freene

The air is bitter. Arctic. It’s cold and it hurts to breathe. The light is pure and so fleeting that you cherish every radiant glow available in this dark otherworldly land.
An alien drifts through the obscure landscape, guided by a Finnish Princess. The girl only knows too well this delicate barren place. Savour the atmospheric landscape, for it will be short lived. Revel in the ethereal luminous state of the tundra, it’s people, and it’s winter. The delicate balance of survival and the artfulness of life in the Finnish winter.
